Malware again

Recently as I blogged here a client's computer was brought down by Malware.
These malware are generally spread by people going to disreputable websites. However, even reputable sites are infected, often causing long-term damage to their readers. Here is an example.
Over the last few days, a newsagent in Sunshine was complaining his computers are randomly going down. They switch the computer back on and the computer works . Then after awhile it suddenly shuts down again. Therefore, we sent out a new computer there to keep him going and took his existing computer for servicing. Soon he calls to say the new computer shuts down just as the old computer did. What is happening?
We tested his old computer and found it full of malware.
We cleaned it off and the computer here is working fine. Meanwhile the new computer in his shop would have been infected by the other computers on his network so that is why it is playing up now.
This shows the importance of running anti-malware software on all computers in your shop. The one that we use is a free one available here.
