New tobacco laws NSW 1st July 2009
By Bernard on Jun 30, 2009 | In Law | Send feedback »
I have taken a bit of a look around and found this fact sheet from the NSW
Department of Health that confirms that tobacco can be sold from only 1 cash
register at any given time. These changes take effect from July 1st 2009
with NO phase in period. I will post a notice on the blog site today as a
service to our PB users in NSW as this is the first that most people have
heard of these changes.Regards,

Another issue is that no loyality program can be done by NSW retailers with tobacco products
Shoplifting reports

Being now in France, in what I have been told is the shoplifting capital of the world, it is becoming clear that many of our security reports need modifying.
Several of the systems here are much better in this respect. I got some really good ideas just looking at them.
Why buy VISTA?

Very soon Microsoft will be releasing Windows 7. So I just spoke to a developer today in Germany about it. Already its easy to see that this will be the replacement for Vista. It is better, requires a lower standard computer and costs less then Vista, leaving the question, why buy Vista anymore?
Once Windows 7, is released, we intend to make it our main operating system.
With its multitouch interactions, our software users will just fly though menus.
Giftcards are doing better then expected

Woolworths Australia's largest gift card retailer stated yesterday
Sales of pre-paid gift cards have risen 40 per cent so far this financial year, exceeding internal targets
When we first reintroduced giftcards into our clients shops, I never expected that they would do this well.
I really do suggest that many of our clients consider this market. It is available at no charge to any of our clients.
